Schimmel piano singapore3/21/2024 Hi! i have played a number of charles Walter and Petrof uprights. Our advise is to play them all and then decide. His technicians love it, give it glowing reports and it shows as it remains the best-selling piano in Europe (so I am told).īut in the end, it doesn't matter what I or anyone else says, you have to play it and you have to like it yourself. I think Larry Fine likes the Schimmel better than Petrof, but he is looking at purely it from a technical angle (one of his technicans calls the Schimmel upright his "MVP", most valuable piano). It is simply a warm, romantic scale and a joy to play! I prefer the Schimmel over the Yamaha, the Chas. You need to decide yourself what you like best! But as it is with all pianos, it's a personal opinion and not necessarily "factual". But from what I have heard, it's a nice piano.Ĭharles Walter here on Piano World has wonderful reports along with some not-so-glowing reports. Petrof is a lovely piano so I have heard. Our company sell both Yamaha and Schimmel so we're perhaps a tad biased Yamaha DID own 24.9% of Schimmel, but the Schimmel family has bought-out the Yamaha stock and is now owned 100% by the Schimmel family.
